Mark Hardy was born and raised in western Pennsylvania.  After graduating high school, Mark headed west and received two college degrees, one from the University of Hawaii and one from Washington State University.  The western U. S. is where his interest in photography began.

After graduating from WSU, Mark headed south to warmer climates, spending 18 years in New Orleans, Louisiana, five years in Atlanta, Georgia and the last six years in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.  While in New Orleans, Mark returned to college to study photography.

Mark has been employed by two of the largest photography companies in the United States, Prestige Portraits and Olan Mills as a photographer and instructor and is currently employed as a sports and portrait photographer at Legends Event Photo in Clinton Tennessee.  He also is employed as a freelance photographer by the Knoxville News Sentinel.
